Popular Ghanaian actress, film producer, singer and humanitarian of Lebanese – Juliet Ibrahim has vowed never to step out until COVID-19 is wiped out from Ghana.
Her reaction was in response to President Nana Addo’s lifting of the lockdown ban.
His Excellency, President Nana Akuffo Addo during his 7th update on the coronavirus pandemic captioned, “Measures taken against spread of coronavirus” indicated that, the lockdown has been lifted effective 1am on Monday.
This decision according to him is due to the newly developed capacities and measures that put government in the right position to better understand and manage the virus.
He however stated that, lifting the lockdown does not mean that we will disregard safety measures. Social gatherings remain restricted to an extent, public transports are equally expected to run with considerable number of passengers.
Right after his speech, Juliet Ibrahim took to social media to write:
“Not sure about this decision but oh well🤷♀️ …. AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD WE REMAIN ON PARTIAL LOCKDOWN UNTIL WE HEAR REPORTS OF NO MORE NEW CASES AND EVERYONE SUSPECTED HAS Tested negative AND ALL CONTACTS HAS BEEN TRACED AND TESTED and cleared. Till then… ✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼🤐.”
That same night, some deviant Ghanaians organized a party and jammed happily without observing the social distancing.
